Just reading your blog while I'm thinking about doing a 28 day challenge. To get the nutritional yeast to stick try misting (using a spray bottle) the popcorn with low salt tamari sauce or use Bragg's Liquid Amino, then sprinkle on the yeast. It is really yummy! My kids love popcorn this way better than the greasy butter coated style.

Yeah, I'm more of an advocate for eating real food and not something they made in a laboratory to replace actual food. I recently tried another flavor of the product and this one actually had microwave instructions. It was worse in texture than the ones I grilled up in a pan. The sauce that came with it is the ONLY redeeming quality it had.

I had a coupon and tried these a few weeks ago - not thrilled. Texture is like seitan, but I like seitan for what it is, and cook it up with pasta and veggies. But one of the Gardein products I tried was the faux BBQ pulled pork - it was exactly what you said, it just made me crave "the real thing."

You are so welcome! It's hard to get moving again once you've stopped. I think the key is to never stop moving. Being mostly meat-free is surprisingly easy for me. Although, this heat makes me not want to cook anything at all which makes the eating habits terrible.

Aw, thanks :) I've been struggling with motivation lately too, and have generally maintained for the past month and a half. And I have no excuse! :P Glad to hear mostly-meat-free is still working for you - I want to transition back to at least vegetarian if not vegan for maintenance, but I had too many mental blocks with it in my losing phase, for some reason.

I bring my gym clothes to work with me and figure if I am going to carry them I should use them. Having a small snack between work and the gym helps so I am not starving when I get home and have a little energy to throw some dinner together.

The Engine 2 book has a plan where each week you drop something else. I felt doing it one at a time would have been harder for me. So once I went to the store and bought all the produce I dove in feet first. And just like jumping into an icy pool, there was an adjustment period, but I got over it pretty quickly. I think the hardest part is watching the processed food. There's a LOT of extra stuff you wouldn't think about in those foods. You really need to be careful. Thanks for commenting! I love hearing from people who've been reading.

Good for you, Pattie!!! It's been so interesting reading about your experiences. Do you think it would have been harder or easier to take things out of your diet one at a time? For example, this week no more sugar. Next week, no sugar and no meat.
