Scam!
So I get This email. So I’m like all in a tizzy trying to figure out who wants information on me and why don’t they just email me and ask me what they want to know!
So I got to the website for these people word-of-mouth.org and it’s all anonymous. You can send an anonymous email to the people if you just pay $20. I’m not about to do that. So I do some Google research.
I found This which was very helpful. Reminded me of the folks at Snopes who are always full of good information on fake viruses and scams that are out there. So yeah, if you get that same email I got, just delete it. Don’t fall for this guy’s scam. Cuz The Ziff Davis Security guy has a whole story on it if you don’t believe me, or Snopes. But if that isn’t enough you can check out the Spam Cop News page about it from earlier this month.
What bothers me is that it seems the FTC is doing nothing to cut back on the online fraud that’s going on. If you read the FAQ at the scammers website they have used all these laws to make it seem like what they’re doing is legal, when really it’s all a scam. So BEWARE!
