Concerts!
I got to go see Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine last night at the House of Blues. The show was AWESOME! Richard Cheese is a lot of fun. And his keyboard player Bobby Ricotta is so animated and fun to watch. However, the House of Blues is a bad venue if you’re short. I couldn’t quite see the drummer or the bass player too well. And Richard roams the stage so much I could only see him half the time. The opening act was Bed Zeppelin, I thought they had said Dread Zeppelin but no, it was Bed Zeppelin. They sing Led Zeppelin songs in pajamas and wigs. The keyboard player sits in a recliner and is so totally disinterested nearly asleep, very funny, but also very good. Dread Zeppelin on the other hand sing Led Zeppelin songs with a reggae beat, and their lead singer is an Elvis impersonator, also very good and very funny. They’ll be in Chicago during Labor Day weekend if anyone would like to trek with me to see them in the suburbs… only $5!!
It was an awesome show, Cheese is so cool… He and the band signed autographs after the show. Bobby Ricotta was hanging with the crowd chatting, it was so cool. Cheese usually hangs in Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel. He did say he wants to come back to Chicago next year. So, you’ll have another chance to check him out!
