Silly

My body hurts. I ache all over. My arms are bruised too. I made the foolish mistake of trying to put my A/C unit in the window by myself…well…I also made the other foolisth mistake of picking the HEAVIEST machine from the stack in the hall. I thought it was my old one, but no, this one is like 6 times heavier than my old one. I struggled alone to carry it from the pile to the window. Then fought with it in the window before realizing this just was NOT going to sit in the window properly, nope, no way, not going to happen.

By that point my arms were finished, I could NOT lift that thing to get it out of the window, much less lift it to get it back into the hall. Fortunately I saw my lovely neighbor from upstairs come down the gangway. I frantically tried to balance that beast on the window and ran to my door to catch her before she was gone.

There I stood with my fabulous hair all wet and frizzy and curled up crazy, soaking wet with sweat, black streaks down my arms. “Can you help me?” I asked. She looked up from the piles of mail on the floor, “Sure, what do you need?” I could see the panic spread across her face as she looked at me. But she came in and helped me get it out of the window and we set it in the hall. Holy crap that thing was heavy. We also bonded over cats and I offered to watch her cat whenever she needed. Then I promised to help her with whatever she might need and told her she could borrow any DVDs I have.

We then carried the feather light smaller unit from the stack right to my window. It fit perfectly. I then put the couch back and laid down with my feet directly in front of the blower…then, when I was able to move agian I put my face there…then I took a shower. I let it get so cold I wanted blankets before I turned it down…and then I ended up turning it off.

OH… and I wrote a poem for Craig Ferguson.

I love you Craig Ferguson
You make me laugh and…. gurgle….some?
Although you don’t like pineapple on pizza
I’d still like to meet ya
Please stop blowing up the cat

(yeah, I know, I need to work on what rhymes with Ferguson)

My new hair

My new hair, originally uploaded by Pirate Alice.

This is my new haircut when done straight. Hopefully it’ll look this great as the humid summer continues. Yeah…prolly not.
