I got a call from my brother the other day. He was checking up on me because I haven’t posted here in a while.  I’m still alive I just haven’t had anything worth posting. Don’t worry, I’m still here and the blog isn’t going anywhere.

On thing to report is that I was accepted to the Chicago Career Tech program. I will get training from them and they pay you for the training. It’ll be a 6 day a week thing for the next 6 months but I’ll get certified in whatever it is and learn some cool stuff. The whole orientation is at the end of May so I’ll know more about all of it in a month.

Now, if  spring would just arrive for real I’ll be SUPER happy… 😉

Operation Beautiful

Above is a video from Peter Hollens who was a contestant on the Sing Off. He has joined forces with Caitlin Boyle of Operation Beautiful to help her message go viral.

Operation Beautiful is a grassroots effort to post anonymous notes in public places for other women to find. These notes are generally on post-its and say uplifting things like “you are beautiful” and “you are loved” and “you’re awesome just the way you are”

Caitlin does a lot of great work helping young girls through Girls on the Run and she’s working on a second Operation Beautiful book that I believe is targeted at young women/girls.

Please help her spread the word. This is a wonderful and positive project that everyone should be participating in. I’d love to get on the bus tomorrow and see a bunch of Operation Beautiful post-its!
