DO YOU?!?  NO NO NO!  You don&#8217;t need the &#8220;ever so&#8221; it takes up space, makes the sentence clunky. It ADDS NOTHING to the phrase. &#8220;He quietly crept down the hall&#8221; works JUST as good but it&#8217;s two words shorter.  I&#8217;m just sick of flowery writing that sucks! It makes it SO HARD to read the book.
