In an attempt to concentrate on some good things here’s the story Sister M<\/a> mentioned…<\/p>\n So between Sis’s wedding and the reception, the boy and I were trying to figure out what to do. The family photos with the Bride & Groom were done, they didn’t need me anymore… We spoke to Bro and his wife and they were going back to the hotel to change clothes and relax…that sounded like an excellent idea. Then I called S&A to see what they were doing. They said they were at the casino<\/a> that was just 5 miles up the road. I looked at the boy and asked if he wanted to go to the casino, he was like, “eh, we don’t have much money” and I said, “we can get a coke or something?” and he figured, “OK fine.” So I called Bro and wife to see if they were willing to go back to the casino, (they had gone earlier and lost money) but they were really wanting to change their clothes and relax so we said we’d see them later and off we went to the casino…<\/p>\n We got inside (no cover charge!) and immediately had no idea where to look for S&A. I pulled out my phone but I was on “analog roam” which just means no signal, don’t even try to call… As the boy went for his phone, I saw them right up the stairs at some slots… we went over and they showed us these VIP cards they had. It’s free to sign up so we went over to the desk. I discovered that I had left my ID at the hotel, cuz really what do you need ID for when you’re at your sister’s wedding? Well they said no problem since me and the boy have the same address…although even though I told her my last name she put the boy’s last name on the card… We went off with S&A in search of an ATM cuz everyone seemed to need cash. The boy pulled out $40 and handed me $20… I stared at it like, “what’s this?” and he’s like, “you wanted to play right?” so I said, “OK” and looked around. <\/p>\n The Easter Island machine said in it’s sleazy, smarmy voice “c’mon over here baby…” and I looked and saw it was merely a nickel slot and figured my $20 would last more than 2 minutes there so I said, “I’m going to Easter Island” and walked right on over. I was thrilled to sit down because those cute pink shoes had become the work of the devil by the time the photographers had finally taken a picture of me and Sis. My poor feet couldn’t take it anymore.<\/p>\n I slipped the new card with the wrong last name into the machine and then fed in the $20. I made a note that twenty dollars is 400 credits and made a pledge that if I lose and then get back to 400 I’m to quit. So I hit some buttons…this easter island tiki statue guy takes up the middle of the sceen and makes this “ho ho ho” (not like santa but like a tiki guy) noise and the win area counts up 2 credits. woo how exciting… Then I hit some more buttons, credits go away…credits come back the screen tells me I can “gamble it” by pressing the green flashing button, I do.. a playing card comes up on screen and I can either pick red or black or a suit… I press hearts…it’s an Ace of Spades… I lose… I hit more buttons my credits are dropping quickly… I win again and hit the Gamble button again. I pick clubs…it’s diamons… I lose again. Then I’m down to like 2 or 3 credits. I hit the button again and then the screen starts flashing lines are squiggling all over… the word “Sensational” is at the top of the screen and at the bottom it’s saying “Line 4 wins 50 credits” and then scrolls through a bunch of different lines with different amounts of credits. I look up at the win box and it’s counting up… I figure if it gets to 400 I’m done. It hits 400 and keeps going….800… still going… 1000 still going…it finally stops and I’m looking at the number of credits and I just can’t do that kind of math in my head. I hit the “Cash Out” button…The ticket prints…<\/p>\n $764.10<\/b><\/p>\n I stare at the ticket…I look up at the screen, it’s still flashing…I look back down at the ticket… NO WAY! I get up and look for the boy, he’s sitting at Wheel of Fortune. I walk up behind him and put the ticket in front of his face. He takes it from me and hits a button on his machine. He looks down…then he swings around and looks at me… “NO WAY!” he says. “YUP!” I say. He finishes losing his $20 with two more button pushes. And off we go to find S&A. They’re on the other side of the place at some $1 slots. The boy shows S the ticket, “OHMYGOD!” she says, “you can play more!” <\/p>\n “Not a chance,” I say. “I’m quitting while I’m ahead.” <\/p>\n It took me all of 5 minutes to win that money on the Easter Island slot… A NICKEL slot no less… <\/p>\n I thank Little Sis and the margarita earrings that Sis M gave me and the other<\/a> Snotties<\/a> not to mention S&A for suggesting we even go there, cuz we wouldn’t have gone near the casino if it weren’t for them.
