In a Uhaul no one can hear you scream<\/strong><\/p>\n

So to update on the move, 12 days after the official “move” and we’ve got all our crap out of the old house. Everything is piled in the garage of the new place. We kind of have the living room\/dining room area set up but there’s a stack of boxes in the corner.<\/p>\n

Naturally, I pushed to have the television set up. I can’t afford to miss any more of my shows. Meerkat Manor<\/a> is so far along I may never get caught up. I missed the premiere of Lost and the finale of Eureka. I’m really annoyed.<\/p>\n

The casualties…
\nMy desk is broken beyond repair. It was packed into the pod incorrectly and then boxes were stacked on top. Totally cracked. Yo Master D owes me a trip to IKEA and a new desk.<\/p>\n

Also, found Rocco…his hat got chipped. Poor Rocco, will he ever forgive me for not packing him into my purse for this move?<\/p>\n

Bad News…
\nThe oven doesn’t work, the back yard is too small for alpacas, only one window has a screen (this includes both sliding doors), half the windows don’t open anyway cuz previous-tennant-idiot sealed them shut with caulk. I can’t open the heat vent in my office, good thing I don’t have a desk or I’d be freezing while working\/playing on my comptuer. I’ll be working on the ancient laptop in the livingroom until further notice. The cheap bastard “handyman” put in wooden towel bars for the bathroom. This bathroom is trimmed in metallics. So A) the wood doesn’t match and B) wooden towel bars suck, you put wet towels on them, the wet towels take off the varnish… ugh…we look so trailer trash now with the metallic trimmed tub, faux chrome toilet seat and wooden towel bars… jeeze.
\nIn addition to the not working oven, I’m down a wall of cabinets and two drawers in the kitchen. There is no room for food AND dishes in this kitchen. I may have to leave the table in the basement and get some kind of shelves or something in the kitchen.
\nThis house is as cold as a meatlocker. I’m always freezing, it’s very hard to sleep when you keep shivering.<\/p>\n

Good news….
\nuh…hmmm… OH! The whirlpool tub works now. There is a fireplace, but I’m really not sure if we want to try that out or not. Mabel seems happy.
\nThat’s about all the good news… unless you count Yo Master D getting a new job….although this job may force us to move again. His new place may require him to live within the city limits of Chicago. So…I’m going to have to go through all this again… I think I’m going to go cry in the corner now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
