Learn new things!
So after some friends launched thier podcast I figured I’d look into what this “podcasting” stuff is and I’ve discovered some fun stuff.
I found that since I only listen to the radio when in the car, I can at least download Lin’s Bin as a podcast (and I even got back episodes!!) which is a cool something to be able to hear on the train to or from work.
Then I found Detroit JazzStage which was beyond cool although it took like 3 days to download. I’m afriad to go for back episodes after that first one took so long.
Now,today’s discoveries are very exciting. While searching for things of interest I thought, “why are there no, teach-you-foreign-language podcasts?” Well…there ARE I just didn’t look hard enough last time… Today I discovered The French PodClass I’ve got #32 but I went back and started with 1-4. Yes, I had French in high school but I only know the useful phrases of “hello Phillipe, how are you?” and “we are going to the beach” not to mention “pass your papers to the right” yes, I can see how that’ll help me, should I ever get to France and want to talk to people.
Then the next find was MuggleCast a Harry Potter fan podcast. I haven’t listened to it yet, it’s still downloading. But I’ll report back once I do give it a listen.
The last find today, I have not yet listened to either, is, Cellar Rat from alt.npr it’s a podcast by Allen Baker who is learning the wine business from grape growing to making wine, etc and discusses the world of wine. After sleeping through the documentary, Mondo Vino, I thought maybe a podcast about wine might be easier to handle. I’ll keep you posted.
Well, I’ve got cat determined to lay ON my hand while I try to type so I’d better go entertain her since I’m obviously not doing what she wants me to do. And it’s very hard to type with a cat on your hand. OH, BTW – All of the above podcast can be found via iTunes and are all FREE!
